Primary technical support for product line systems and its components. Interact with the rig crew and advise driller or company man of events or problem identified during operations. Perform daily preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as required. Assist in time, cost, and labour estimates for completion of job assignments. Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality to increase efficiency. Responsible for daily report, records of events and proper database management of all well data. Attend morning meetings and conference calls as necessary. Writing daily and end of well reports. Assist in the rig up and rig down of equipment. The operation and management of a mobile field unit and crew. Provide reliable, prompt, and courteous service to Weatherford's customers. Isolate and solve complex problems on the job site with the assistance of our technical support groups. Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Personal career development through external and internal technical and non-technical training. You will be required to work in a field and an outdoor setting for extended hours ; at times, extreme climates. Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. The Field Services (FS) Team within Chief Operations Business Unit, provides Field Workforce capabilities across all technologies for, Service Activation, Service Assurance, Network Assurance, Network Maintenance, Customer Complaints linked with Network faults and Quality Inspection. A bit about your role Based in Perth, your new role as Field Engineer would require you to represent nbn's Field Services team for all field-based assurance activities. You will be responsible for the support, integration, augmentation, field audits, connect quality and Delivery Partner quality activities across nbn and the services connected to the network. You will provide high level field support which may involve travel, scheduled after hours activities, and may require you to be part of an on-call roster and respond to afterhours call outs. The role would see you This role involves field management and service assurance for equipment and systems, with a focus on enhancing active network construction and probing early faults. It requires providing on-site, technical support and resolving customer field technician escalations. The successful candidate will handle end-user installations, assurance activities, and network element upgrades. Proficiency in HFC construction, network remediation, and understanding of HFC testing principles, DOCSIS 3.1, and RF fundamentals is beneficial. As a Field Engineer, you'll conduct HFC maintenance and restoration, including amplifier alignment and egress repairs. Adherence to SLA, OLA, and CRQ timeframes, knowledge in basic HFC design, and a background in fibre optics are essential. The role requires assuring the network from CMTS to CM. A bit about you The ideal candidate would have a technical background, preferably with robust network assurance expertise in one or more nbn technologies like Ethernet, DWDM, GPON, or VDSL. Experience in outside plant construction across Fibre or Copper networks would be advantageous. This technical proficiency, combined with a strong background in network assurance, would be highly beneficial for this role. The network uses different delivery methods and technologies, including, but not limited to, FTTP, FTTB, FTTN, HFC, Copper Last Mile, Wireless, and Satellite. The Field Operations Team handles customer service, service activation, network assurance, maintenance, modernization, and quality audits across all technologies. Field Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring network quality, making technical decisions, and mentoring other Field technicians. Due to the demanding project work on our active network, our Field Engineers operate on a 24/7 roster which may involve frequent night as well as participating in an on-call roster. The role would see you: Manage and conduct equipment and system-level Network and Service Assurance activities in the field across all nbn technologies. Perform work instigating changes and upgrades to nbn network platforms and components. This may involve individual cases or program-related activities. Demonstrate familiarity with the assessment and accreditation process and actively contribute to process improvement using the PDCA (plan-do-check-act) approach. Meet workforce availability commitments, including participating in an on-call and scheduled night-works roster, as directed. Available to respond to emergency, seasonal and project-based demand profiles. Provide technical leadership and capability in enhancing network design and support processes.
