We are seeking a suitable candidate for a Civil Engineer - Project Leader (Property and Buildings) position in our Perth office, who can demonstrate extensive experience (5-15 years) in the Property and Building sector. Pritchard Francis have a strong workflow backed by a repeat client base which covers all facets of Property and Building work inclusive of multi-storey residential, shopping centres, bulky goods, offices, industrial warehouses, hotels, education, aged care and health projects. Role Responsibilities All aspects of design in civil engineering with a focus on Property and Building projects, including bulk earthworks, pavement and stormwater designs utilising best practice methodologies. Leading and delivering discrete packages of work independently and in collaboration with the team. Managing projects including resourcing, scheduling, cash flow and the preparation of project budgets. Fee preparation and scope management throughout the lifecycle of the project. Preparation of design sketches and details for drafting by technical staff and oversee the design development and documentation. Facilitate coordination with our Structural Property team, to deliver a seamless, coordinated design. Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, local government, and authorities. Meet our client expectations of projects being delivered on time and with a high degree of accuracy. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required. Undertaking quality reviews for deliverables produced. Gather data and evidence to prepare engineering studies, analysis and calculations, including the preparation of technical reports and specifications. Attend site for inspections. We are keen to hear from candidates with 5 or more years’ experience who have a strong technical base and want to grow into project management and leadership roles. You will receive mentoring and support from Principal Civil Engineers and Project Directors, to develop and tailor your role to suit your strengths and passions to support career growth. What You Will Bring Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include: Tertiary level qualifications in Civil Engineering. 5 years plus experience in a consulting environment with relevant Property and Building industry experience. Chartered status with Engineers Australia would be beneficial, but not essential. Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients and other engineers. Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, managing and maintaining client relationships. Ability to work accurately and efficiently within a busy client focused team. Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail. Familiar with software such as AutoCAD and 12D would be beneficial, but not essential. Be self-motivated with the ability work autonomously with a focus on delivery and service. Be a team player willing to pitch in and help to get the work done. Technical and Industry Experience A comprehensive knowledge of applicable Australian Standards, Local Government Authority Standards, statutory and regulatory requirements. Exposure to developing civil design across a range of project cycles utilising relevant standards utilising best practice methodologies. Agile with working in multiple platforms and environment including the use of 365 suite and various other collaboration tools. Competent use of civil engineering specific software. Our team This role is based within the Mineral Potential of Australia Section, part of the Mineral Systems Branch in the MEG Division. The Mineral Potential of Australia Section will support the responsible development of a diverse mineral resources sector in Australia's low-carbon economy by providing precompetitive mineral potential assessments and data to support exploration and drive new mineral and energy discoveries. This role will support the delivery of the Accelerating Development of Australia's Rare Earth Resources project being delivered as part of the Australian Critical Minerals Research and Development Hub (the Hub). The Hub brings together expertise from Australia's leading Federal science agencies: Geoscience Australia, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and CSIRO and policy expertise from the Critical Minerals Office. The Hub will work with industry and research partners on technical challenges, coordinate and align critical minerals research and development activities, and drive collaborative research across the critical minerals value chain needed to support clean energy and Australia's net zero policy agenda. Geoscience Australia supports the Hub through our expert knowledge in mineral systems understanding and national and regional scale resource potential assessments.
