In this 6 month contract role, you will be involved in the day to day activities of a Mine Geologist to help assess the location and grade quality of our world class Mineral Deposit. You will play a vital role in ensuring we produce a quality lump and fines product. Collaborative in your approach, you will have the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of internal partners. The roster for this position is 8/6 FIFO Perth. There is the possibility of an extension for a further 4 months once the 6 month contract has been completed. This role is a great opportunity to be a part of the Mine Geology team that manages the grade quality of the Iron ore deposit from when it is drilled to when it is sent to the crusher and work towards achieving the best reconciliation conformance between the Block model and the final product. You will join a close-knit network of Mine Geologists where you will expand on your existing mine geology experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will: Conduct daily model interpretation and mineralogical logging. QAQC checks to investigate issues and find solutions. Regular Stockpile inspections to ensure minimal ore dilution. Site based modelling through our 3D blockout process. Weekly and monthly Model Reconciliation. Experience required: 5 years Mine Geologist experience, ideally gained in iron ore A Bachelor’s degree qualification or greater in a relevant Geology discipline is required. A current C class manual drivers license. A ‘can do’ attitude, genuine passion for learning, and your enthusiasm for improvement that will truly see you succeed in this role An understanding of the geology of Hamersley Basin. Ideally have experience with Vulcan, Proficient with Microsoft suite, and the collection, validation and interpretation of QAQC data.
