Groundwater Field Technician » Ivanhoe, Central Darling Area - About the role We are now recruiting an Groundwater Field Technician to perform groundwater monitoring activities download and calibrate monitoring instrumentation, perform surface water monitoring, and water quality sampling. This role is largely fieldwork which includes, hiking, working from boats, 4WDi'ng and working in remote areas. This role is based in Mildura, will involve working alone and part of a team across locations in Northern Western Vic and from time-to-time central VIC. The successful applicant will be required to stay away overnight from time to time. Report creating and tracking & assisting with reporting updates. About the role: Based in Repurpose It's Environmental and Sustainability team, the position of Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist is primarily responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of the team including compliance testing and monitoring, data review, review of waste classification and other environmental technical reports, communication updates to operational managers & management of other site activities as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities of the role include: Site inspections and site management of environmental compliance requirements in line with the regulations; Preparation of internal and external environmental reports; Assist in developing environmental and sustainability strategies and site procedures; Identification of key environmental risk and sustainability best practice opportunities; Support activities associated with the company’s Environmental Management System and accreditation of ISO standards; Contribute to the preparation project briefs for new resource recovery projects; Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and assist with regulatory approvals where required; Implement and support Research & Development initiative projects and trials; and Identify improvement opportunities for Repurpose It to provide market solutions for our clients. About you: You will have demonstrated experience working in a similar position where you have worked in contaminated land and/or waste and environmental management along with experience in environmental assessment and Victoria EPA legislation. Your technical skills combined with your passion in the field and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders will see you succeed in this role. You will need: Degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, geology or relevant discipline; 5 years of contaminated land and/or waste/environmental management experience is required; Victorian drivers license as travel between Epping, Hallam and Montrose sites is required; Right to work in Australia; Police check (to be completed during recruitment process); Experience with Victorian EPA legislation and approvals is preferred.
