In addition to; Prepares and implement quality plan in accordance with client and execution plan requirements. Attends vendor kick off meetings as required to provide quality support and advice on quality deliverables. Reviews and approve product/material requisitions and validates quality control and certification requirements. Assigns and coordinates product/material inspection activities in accordance with purchase order, inspection and test plan and associated technical requirements. Plans, implements and reports on both internal and external risk based audit programmes. Manages and analyses data arising from non-conformance and corrective actions. The Mineral Potential of Australia Section will support the responsible development of a diverse mineral resources sector in Australia's low-carbon economy by providing precompetitive mineral potential assessments and data to support exploration and drive new mineral and energy discoveries. This role will support the delivery of the Accelerating Development of Australia's Rare Earth Resources project being delivered as part of the Australian Critical Minerals Research and Development Hub (the Hub). The Hub brings together expertise from Australia's leading Federal science agencies: Geoscience Australia, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and CSIRO and policy expertise from the Critical Minerals Office. The Hub will work with industry and research partners on technical challenges, coordinate and align critical minerals research and development activities, and drive collaborative research across the critical minerals value chain needed to support clean energy and Australia's net zero policy agenda. Geoscience Australia supports the Hub through our expert knowledge in mineral systems understanding and national and regional scale resource potential assessments. Our work supports Australian Government initiatives with the aim of stimulating mineral exploration investment, including critical minerals, to open new producing provinces with mineral endowments. We require someone to be oversee the aspects of a multi-discipline engineering scope of work on projects / work scopes. This role has the responsibility for coordinating and completing the various engineering, construction, and maintenance of a project(s) while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals across all disciplines. As part of this highly visible role, key accountabilities include (but will not be limited to): - Driving technical assurance on the assigned scope(s) of work Overseeing work relating to construction, maintenance, upgrades, and debottlenecking – Managing and leading, supporting and supervising the discipline engineering teams on the assigned scope(s) of work Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities – Building a team to deliver all aspects of the project Developing and retaining motivated and competent people - Driving safety by design - Driving and leading on opportunities for innovation May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department. About You What will set you apart is your previous experience within the mining industry, particularly in the operation and sustaining capital works programs. You may have had dual exposure client or EPCM and gained your skills within a PMO structure, should you career be client focused, where you have projects of medium to large scale in brownfield optimization or asset management focused scopes. Experienced professional with Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering with additional Project Management qualifications Experienced in the production and operations of Mineral Processing/Hydrometallurgical Facilities Broad and extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques and a high level of skill in application of this knowledge in the management of the engineering function – Ability to consult, guide and identifying opportunities for business growth within the brownfields sector, guiding clients on best practise solutions for their operations optimisation. Experience in building cohesive and collaborative working relations across all key internal/external stakeholders Strong Financial and commercial acumen, ability to balance alignment with client requirement in partnership with Woods Strategy and business. As a Research Projects Officer, you will deliver into laboratory research being undertaken through the National Critical Minerals R&D Hub on high purity alumina (HPA, >99.99% Al2O3) project. You will support the research and development of innovative processes to convert aluminium-containing feedstocks to HPA suitable for the lithium-ion battery and synthetic sapphire markets. As part of a flexible and dynamic work force, you will also support other research areas as and when required. Applications are invited across two levels, the appointment level will be determined by the qualifications, skills and relevant experience of the successful candidate. About the Role This role will see you join the Project Services team who are based across our Perth and Brisbane office. Our team supports both our Brisbane and Perth business, across Cost Control, Planning and Document Control disciplines.
