The mission of Jondaryan State School is to facilitate the academic, cultural, physical and social development of each child and in doing so encourage children to become self-motivated learners who can work independently or co-operatively. About the Role: Responsibilities include, but not limited to; Operate autonomously to undertake day to day office procedures within well-defined policies (e.g. reception, arranging appointments, correspondence, maintaining school records and general administration); and utilise information and management systems (e.g. OneSchool) to support effective and efficient reporting and administration. Undertake the day to day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance (working in collaboration with the Principal for any difficult performance management situations); identifying workforce capability requirements; and role modelling performance standards. Oversee the signatories/approval of timesheets, leave applications, rosters, and arrange relief for school support staff; and organise, undertake and coordinate the recruitment, induction and training of school support staff. Assist the Principal with the preparation of the school budget and administer day to day financial matters (i.e. accounts payable/receivable, corporate card monitoring, reconciliations, banking). Input and export data to/from OneSchool for the Principal, to assist with budgeting and financial management. Communicate with internal and external key stakeholders (e.g. school and departmental staff, parents, students, and community members) in a way that encourages cooperation in complying with technical, business and administrative requirements; provides information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives; and demonstrates empathy, emotional understanding and support. Highly desirable skills and experience; The applicant will need to be computer literate, possess financial knowledge and have excellent communication skills. The Finance Business Partner will support 18 schools to advise on financial planning, budgeting & analysis including payroll reconciliation to ensure that deadlines are met, whilst maintaining confidentiality of information assisting with day–to–day aspects of financial management. Duties and responsibilities include; Collaboration with school office staff and headteachers to prepare monthly management accounts including forecasts and variance analysis, identifying financial risks and opportunities. Support school office staff in the operation of the Trust Finance system and application of Trust financial procedures and policies. Collaboration with colleagues in the central team to review and revise financial policy, procedures and processes. Provide advice and guidance to school staff relating to existing finance policies, HMRC guidance and the Academies financial handbook. You will be degree educated and studying for or be fully qualified in AAT or CIMA/ACCA or ACA. You will possess a sound understanding of the process in setting budgets and advising on budget spend in clear and concise terms, to non finance staff. Highly IT literate, you will be naturally confident navigating financial software packages such as Sage Intact and IMP Budget systems. Working constructively as part of a team, you will be highly organised and will positively influence and motivate staff. You will join a friendly team and will be required to work on an agile basis. Regular travel to other schools within the Trust will be required and a car driver is essential for this role.
