Provide guidance on best practices for application and hardware use. Offer 3rd level support, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to third parties as needed. Maintain system documentation and manage licenses and hardware maintenance. Ensure timely application of updates, patches, and configuration changes. Manage backup operations, disaster recovery testing, and ensure system security. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software environments. Support cloud services, manage server systems in Azure and AWS. Manage system changes, perform performance reporting, and contribute to disaster recovery and system standards. Implement security controls, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure application security. Project manage system upgrades/implementations and contribute to technology improvement projects. Manage identity and access, ensure compliance with security policies, and maintain organizational phone and server systems security. Supervise third-party support and mentor Service Desk team members. Lead projects for service and infrastructure improvements and integrations. Support technology services team, develop new responsibilities based on professional development goals. Requirements Proven experience in systems engineering, including hardware and software maintenance, performance tuning, and resource optimization. Strong knowledge of cloud services (Azure, AWS) including provisioning, configuration, and optimization. Experience with disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing. Familiarity with security protocols, vulnerability management, and compliance regulations. Ability to provide high-level support and guidance on application and hardware best practices. Experience with system documentation maintenance and license management. Skilled in project management, particularly in systems upgrades and technology improvement projects. System Engineer » Australia - Engineering - Software (Information & Communication Technology) The System Engineer role will form part of multi-disciplined project teams to design and deliver complex mission critical voice and data systems. The systems may be used directly by our customers or by Motorola Solutions to deliver Managed Services to our customers. The System Engineer will work in the post sales phases of projects and may support multiple projects in parallel depending on size and complexity. There may also be a requirement to provide support to pre-sales activities. The System Engineer role can operate at different levels within the organisation and/or projects. The level of the role will be determined by the size and complexity of the project or activity as well as the level of the individual within the TS organisation. The System Engineering role can be fulfilled at any level within the TS career ladder, however, engineering staff at a lower levels will focus on smaller projects or elements of larger projects. Perform detailed design to refine and develop communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer, end users and operator Undertake the generation of system documentation and equipment lists using relevant tools and processes. Undertake presentations of technical solutions and services to customers, project teams and management. Work together with project managers to help track progress, decisions and changes. Depending on the project scope, a System Engineer might be the technical lead responsible for the entire solution, overseeing the design, deployment and test teams until the project is completed. Alternatively, the System Engineer role might specialise in a particular area or sub-system based on the specifics of the area or project in which they are working.
