The organisation will drive delivery of world-class pumped hydro assets to provide the long-term storage and reliability needed to power Queensland’s clean energy future. The organisation will play a critical role in assisting the Queensland Government to meet its renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050, supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system. The role The Senior Design Manager will be responsible for the management of the Hydro Power station intake structures, underground civil and structural design packages and any supporting construction infrastructure. The role will also ensure the successful planning, development and management of asset operational readiness deliverables and activities. The key accountabilities of this role include: Lead the design management for the civil and structural components of the Hydro Power scheme design that includes access tunnels, caverns, power station layout, waterways, intakes and related construction support infrastructure. Contribute to the manage the design interface risks between the civil, hydro power and OEM designs and issues during construction activities. Be responsible for design plans, schedules, and activities for the Project, including the quality management, document control process, design development through various project stages and 'as completed' documentation. Coordinate the preparation of engineering or works scopes, and review of scopes produced by others. Scope management of deliverables to ensure finalised works are delivered to project budget. Identify and manage engineering, design, and project matters and escalate where required. Contribute to design process to achieve agreed design objectives for all aspects of the project.
