Senior Engineer - Energy » Largs North, Port Adelaide Area - Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering) The Energy Project works with clients to help them solve complex energy problems. Most of our clients own or manage property portfolios – shopping centres, airports, housing estates, apartments, retirement villages, social housing and healthcare. The Energy Project is an independent energy consulting firm that helps these clients navigate the energy transition. The “markets” for energy and energy products & services are complex and sometimes immature. Our business model is based on adding value to our clients: making wise decisions that realise savings or increasing performance. We have a decade-long track record of doing just that. We help our clients understand the way they use and pay for energy We help build a ‘business case’ to invest in projects that reduce cost, manage risk and create long term value We write specifications, run tenders and select the best providers to deliver projects for our clients We help our clients get these projects delivered to a high standard, on time and on budget Most of our projects focus on “smart” networks of solar PV, batteries and electric vehicle charging infrastructure We also prepare carbon “footprints” and develop net-zero plans We have a unique understanding of the human side of energy projects. Our advice is grounded not only in what is technically or commercially feasible, but informed by what delivers value for the end consumer. We provide a ‘voice of the customer’ in engagement activities run by Regulators, Market Operators, Networks, and Governments We work with some of Australia’s largest energy users and property owners to help them specify, procure, deliver high quality energy projects that make a lasting impact. We de-risk investments through our market knowledge, stakeholder engagement and engineering skills. What sets us apart is a unique combination of engineering, commercial, project management and regulatory expertise, combined with an agile and pragmatic approach to meeting client needs. If you’re looking for a job that offers a pipeline of projects that look similar from one month to the next, we’re probably not what you’re looking for. But, if you thrive on working with clients, suppliers and team members to find creative solutions to complex problems, you may be just who we’re looking for The Role The role of Senior Engineer - Energy requires an experienced electrical (or mechanical) engineer with 7 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary project environment. Solar PV project experience is highly regarded. You will be able to demonstrate skills in one of more of the following: Electrical engineering principles. Working knowledge of HV switchgear. Sound understanding of electrical, mechanical and structural construction methods and constructability. EV charging. Technical documentation. Safety systems. Client and supplier engagement. A working knowledge of AS3000, AS4777 and AS5033 is highly desirable. Who we’re after As part of our engineering team, you will be leading energy projects from feasibility assessment, through to concept design, specification, procurement, and delivery. You’re an outstanding engineer, an excellent communicator, and capable of shifting gears between ‘big picture’ client presentations and the nuts and bolts of reviewing detailed technical designs. You’re driven to solve complex energy problems, hold yourself to a high standard of excellence and have a strong sense of integrity. What we offer You'll get to advise some of Australia’s leading ASX listed companies on decarbonisation and renewable energy projects and be in a position to influence key decision makers to achieve positive outcomes. You will be constantly challenged by projects that grow your engineering and project leadership skills. You will be encouraged to identify and pursue an area of specialisation that aligns with one of our core service offerings – or grows our current capabilities. We offer a unique working environment that is flexible, fast-paced and offers a high degree of autonomy. We work hard, but family commitments and a work-life balance are respected and valued. Most importantly, individuality and diversity of opinion is not just welcomed but encouraged. Some of the projects we’re delivering for clients include: 5 MW Solar projects on shopping centres 4 MW Solar projects and HV upgrades on distribution centres Multi MW scale solar projects for two major International Airports Ongoing engagements with DNSPs to connect new generation to the grid in WA, QLD, NSW, SA and VIC Evaluating operating models, specifying solar, batteries and EV charging infrastructure for thousands of new homes in land lease communities Developing cost-effective solar protection systems for large housing developments Decarbonisation and electrification strategy for a major port and container handling facility 30 MWh of distribution-connected Battery Energy Storage for a number of different clients Major solar rollout for a national pharmacy chain of 200 stores Advising governments on renewable energy programs for low-income households Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
