As part of the Community Wellbeing unit, our volunteers assist socially isolated and transport poor older persons to stay socially engaged and active. There are various roles available including home visitors, mini-bus drivers, cards and scrabble players, and people to help make tea and coffee. How much time you want to commit is up to you, from as little as one hour, to ten or more hours per week. The roles involve working with vulnerable people and police checks and some basic training will be required. Any training, including first aid, will be provided and paid for by Council.
