As Assistant Project Manager, you will: Work closely with Defence industry managing procurement exercises and contracts that come in all shapes, sizes and complexity. Support management of schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress. Provide input into the development of project planning, performance, cost and schedule documents and work breakdown structures This role is part of a career pathway in project management suited to a self-starter who actively engages in self-improvement and professional development. The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP), which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Our Team EWIS-Maritime SPO currently manages a number of electronic warfare systems fitted to both the surface and sub-surface fleet, such as the Nulka Decoy product and various Sensors and Electronic Attack products in both acquisition and sustainment phases. The SPO delivers these capabilities to both the Australian Defence Force and United States Navy. EWIS-Maritime SPO is widely dispersed across Australia with these positions based at either Russell ACT, Edinburgh SA, Orchard Hills NSW or Pinkenba QLD. The successful applicants will participate in an integrated team, including APS, military and contractor staff, to ensure the supported Electronic Warfare capabilities are delivered to the ADF and supported in accordance with operational and compliance requirements, budget, and service agreements. Job Description Primary Objective Working within Major Projects Victoria and delivering large construction projects of State significance, the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the development of project briefs and management plans, the procurement of goods and services including the writing of tender documents and the day-to-day management of consultants and stakeholders.
