You will liaise with staff to determine practical teaching requirements and to prepare materials for teaching on campus. You will enable undergraduate classroom or laboratory-based teaching activities through expert technical knowledge. Your expertise will facilitate a quality practical experience and support students in successful completion of all learning objectives and outcomes. You will provide technical support and expertise to practical undergraduate teaching to facilitate optimal learning for students in the Occupational Therapy program; liaise with academics and technical team members to ensure there are no gaps in technical support to Occupational Therapy or other supported teaching programs including Nutrition and Dietetics, Sport and Exercise Science, and Education; and manage equipment, consumables, and facility requirements for practical classes to ensure the teaching facilities are equipped and set up for all teaching and engagement activities. A working knowledge of occupational health and safety including experience in conducting, documenting, and implementing outcomes of risk assessments. A demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of cleaning/housekeeping in a practical environment and the ability to document reports and produce operational procedures. Sound computer skills and experience using software applications such as Zoom, SharePoint, MS Office. Current driver’s licence. Responsibilities include: Support students to achieve their potential using evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy knowledge and frameworks to assist schools to identify and make reasonable adjustments and use inclusive teaching strategies. Collaborate and liaise with school leaders, teachers, other service providers, and the supervising occupational therapist to assess barriers to student learning and develop and implement occupational therapy services across schools. Participate as an active member in education teams within schools to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy services to enhance learning outcomes for students with disability. Use professional knowledge and skills to deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, professional standards and guidelines. Monitor and assess occupational therapy services provided across schools, in consultation with the supervising occupational therapist, to ensure that they improve student access and participation in education. Develop and implement best-practice assessment, program planning, intervention and monitoring strategies for students with disability, in accordance with legislation, departmental policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide consultative occupational therapy services and resources to assist school leaders and staff, parents, and other professional peers to develop knowledge and skills to support students with disability. Responsibilities include: Support students to achieve their potential using evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy knowledge and frameworks to assist schools to identify and make reasonable adjustments and use inclusive teaching strategies. Collaborate and liaise with school leaders, teachers, other service providers, and the supervising occupational therapist to assess barriers to student learning and develop and implement occupational therapy services across schools. Participate as an active member in education teams within schools to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy services to enhance learning outcomes for students with disability. Use professional knowledge and skills to deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, professional standards and guidelines. Monitor and assess occupational therapy services provided across schools, in consultation with the supervising occupational therapist, to ensure that they improve student access and participation in education. Develop and implement best-practice assessment, program planning, intervention and monitoring strategies for students with disability, in accordance with legislation, departmental policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide consultative occupational therapy services and resources to assist school leaders and staff, parents, and other professional peers to develop knowledge and skills to support students with disability. Participate as a member of the school team, in the planning and management of at risk behaviours of students with the aim of preventing the use of restrictive practices, and where permitted, the prescription of mechanical restraint in accordance with the department's Restrictive Practices procedure. Participate in service planning at a whole-school level and regional and state level. Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of governance processes. Participate in quality improvement and research activities enhancing occupational therapy services in schools. Actively participate in professional development activities and clinical supervision to improve and ensure high quality services are delivered based on contemporary best practice.
