Commercial Manager » Australia - About the role We have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager or an experienced Contract Administrator looking to step up into a Commercial Manager position at our Mitcham office within our Infrastructure Services team. In this position, you will play a key role in the Management Team for a leading infrastructure maintenance contract. Reporting to the Project Director, this role is responsible for the efficient and effective management of all commercial and contractual matters. The successful candidate will take a proactive and collaborative approach to commercial leadership, driving risk mitigation and continuous improvement opportunities across our contract. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, with flexible working options possible. Duties: Lead and develop the contract's commercial team Management of our stores and inventory team Management of head and subcontracts ensuring full compliance and prompt resolution of any issues Monitoring and analysis of service delivery performance data to identify and drive system improvements Management of cost, revenue, and corporate reporting Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities within the project Lead through collaboration, integrating Commercial functions with Finance and Operations for the betterment of the contract Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment About You You will have a tertiary qualifications and extensive experience as a Senior Contracts Administrator ideally within infrastructure maintenance or construction industries. Working alongside a Senior Commercial manager , you will support the commercial programmes of work across the HPN Hub through the development and oversight of commercial modelling and outcomes to enhance the governance of the HPN Hub’s output.a To do this effectively, you will need to have an excellent understanding of the financial challenges and opportunities in the private and public health sectors. You will be required to have the ability to develop innovative ways of navigating these challenges, while appropriately managing commercial risk. Key focus areas of the role include: Supporting key commercial projects to deliver on HPN priorities, including the development of new funding models and customer focus initiatives Support the commercial governance of the HPN Hub and work within a cross functional team in the design and development of key initiatives with a particular focus on key commercial risks and benefit modelling Support the creation of documents (eg. board papers) and other artefacts that support HPN contract negotiations; proactively ensuring engagement with appropriate stakeholders including the Healthcare Funding and Policy Hub, Legal, Provider Analytics, and Actuary. Work with other parts of Medibank (e.g., Finance) to support on APRA and other external reporting requirements Develop reports and mine for information that builds deep commercial intelligence Support the design and implementation of initiative or commercial models and then monitor and evaluate their performance Present data driven insights in formal reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders to support decision making and KPI reporting About you We are open to applicants from a range of professional backgrounds, however expect you might have experience in consulting, analytics or finance and have demonstrated achievements in complex business modelling and other quantitative analyses (e.g. forecasting, scenario modelling etc). You will have knowledge and understanding of the Australian health and private health insurance sectors, health economics and health policy. You have an aptitude for finding contractual and commercial solutions to real challenges and an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to problem solve creatively. You also have experience in structured problem solving such as problem definition, hypotheses testing, analysis planning and facilitating discussion and focus groups. You have a natural ability to build rapport and establish constructive relationships. You are confident delivering presentations and are someone who can ‘read the room’, understand what’s required and communicate with clarity. You have great interpersonal skills and are driven and motivated by results. Proven experience as an effective communicator with non-financial stakeholders Prior experience with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI and visual dashboards Strong analytical and problem solving skills Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting Proven experience in using large and complex data sets to transform them into relevant, insightful, and accessible insights Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects and able to multi-task while meeting deadlines Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with and influence diverse groups of people. Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting is preferred however Bachelor of Science/Economics will also be accepted; and CA/CPA qualified (Part Qualified accepted) You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. The opportunity The Commercial Manager is a newly created senior role, with specific responsibility for providing commercial support and financial insight to the management team and the JV stakeholders. Based in Blenheim as our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management within the JV including finance, administration, and IT as it relates to JV systems and processes.
