This position will advise and assist the Centre Director, Portfolio Leaders and Chief Operations Officer (COO) to plan and implement strategic and operational marketing and communications activities online, in print and in person to promote and profile the ARC-IFC from a National perspective with National and international impact. Key to this role will be leading the Centre’s web and social media presence as a critical method of engaging Indigenous communities and particularly remote communities to build, strengthen and expand partnerships and collaborations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences, stakeholders, and internal and external audiences. This role also includes working with researchers in the creation of the National Indigenous Knowledge Infrastructure (NIKI), advertising Centre outcomes and activities, coordinating website design and maintenance, interaction with media outlets and producing Centre publications, annual reports, and materials for a wide variety of target audiences, ranging from stakeholders to schools to the public. This position will be located at the Centre’s UQ Node but will work across all Nodes nationally. About You A marketing or communications degree with at least 4 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in marketing within a large organisation. Demonstrated experience in developing and successfully implementing marketing and communications activities and initiatives, preferably with some experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences where multiple stakeholders are engaged. Benchmark and measure SEO performance and use data to drive recommendations, drive product development and inform content strategies Report on the effectiveness of SEO activities to senior stakeholders Work closely with content authors, producers, marketing and product owners in producing and writing content that is optimised for user’s and search engines (not just Google) Help to develop a content strategy framework with practical recommendations across on-page and off-page best practices Help to remediate, triage and resolve technical SEO issues that have been identified by the technical lead Stay up to date on industry trends, algorithm updates and help to drive Qantas forwards by building future-led SEO strategies in areas such as Visual Search (e.g. Google Lens) and Voice Search You’ll have: Minimum 3 years’ of experience, working in a similar position (in-house or agency) A deep knowledge and understanding of on-page and off-page SEO best practices, strategies across English and International markets, social networks and marketing channels Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-led decisions and recommendations to inform decisions and recommendations Advanced Excel and experience with Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, desirable Strong oral and written communication skills with an understanding of Readability measurement (Flesch-Kincaid scales), Accessibility and writing for different users/personas desirable Practical application and understanding of SEO Measurement frameworks Ability to manage and prioritise projects and tasks effectively Functional knowledge and understanding of Content Management Systems, HTML, CSS and JavaScript A good understanding of technical SEO and core web vitals Experience using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Bing Webmasters, Naver Webmasters, Google Search Ads, SEMRush, Ahrefs, ScreamingFrog Self-motivated to work autonomously, with great client and relationship management Keep across the latest trends, algorithm updates and user behaviours with regards to search and travel Why Qantas?
