Technical Lead » The Rocks, Sydney - How will I help? The technical lead role develops detailed technical solution, leads application development teams, provides technical expertise, and ensures overall technical solution aligns with architect's solution and domain architecture framework. This is a Max Term contract till 2025. Your key responsibilities may include: Collaborate with the architect and solution designer to convert requirements/high level solution design into architecture aligned detailed technical solution design. Identify downstream impacts. Provide application development, maintenance, and end-to-end technical expertise. Expertise in software architecture, low level technical solution, visual design and technical governance of applications and platforms. Provide DevOps services and lead application development teams. Responsible for the overall delivery of the technical solution within a Squad e.g. Employee Exp. Or Customer Exp. Inputs into Architecture and Solution Design. Inputs into sprint planning, risks, dependencies, and governance. Delegated sign offs from Principal Lead. Single point of contact for all developers within the assigned squad. Represents the team at forums e.g. WDP forum. Technical Governance to ensure solutions comply with domain roadmaps and governance frameworks. Alongside managing your 2-3 direct reports (co developers), you'll play a huge role in the laying down of new architecture; establishing new tech patterns within the team and getting stuck into product development. For example, if there's a new product or a new part of an application, you'll be first one in there doing foundational development or re-architecting something that needs an up-lift and then distributing that work to your peers. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Technical Lead provides advice and guidance on technical topics including software feature implementation complexity, technical debt/risk and trade-offs. The Technical Lead will, from time to time, be required to liaise with the customer to discuss potential new features or technical challenges. The Technical Lead is responsible for the Teams compliance to the software development process/standards, and where appropriate, assisting to resolve identified deficiencies in Project or Company processes. Please note. This position is impacted by ITAR. An AGSVA security clearance will be required and compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Responsibilities: - Lead development and implementation of a standard architectural approach and philosophy for project software products. - Contribute to a standardised software development environment and tool set that supports project developers to efficiently create high quality software. - Lead software configuration management activities. - Provide technical advice on software development options. - Support customer engagement activities including presentations, reviews and workshops. - Liaise with project engineers to ensure software products adhere to the required standards. - Participate in Testing and debugging. - Develop software support documentation As the ideal candidate you will bring: - Tertiary education such as Bachelor of IT, SW Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. - Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 security clearance - At least three years of experience developing production quality software using Microsoft products including C#, .Net, WPF, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and ADO. - Experience writing technical documentation that supports software systems including architectural design documents and technical specifications. - Experience in requirements elicitation, configuration management, design, development, testing, and release of production quality software. - Experience developing software using Agile methodologies. - Experience in modern OO designs and architectures. - Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and a strong desire for quality (close enough is not good enough).
